The hinged top fitted with a ratchet mechanism above a leather-lined writing surface and one drawer fitted with a sliding leather-lined surface and a secret inkwell drawer, flanked by candle slides, raised on tapering fluted legs ending in sabots.

Last quarter of the 18th century. In the Manner of David Roentgen.

With removable rectangular top above hinged surface opening to reveal slide-out baize game board surface with French inscriptions and hidden well with miniature roulette wheel and compartments with dominoes and game pieces, all of which remove for backgammon surface below, on turned and reeded supports with caster feet.

Brass inlaid is lifting and needs securing on top. Removable top opens to baize surface, some light abrasions and surface grime, interior underneath with game piece compartments and wheel which have minor nicks, light abrasions. Legs have repairs, one appears a bit wobbly. Has some game pieces, probably not complete.

In solid, carved mahogany, curvilinear in form, with Neoclassical elements including cornucopia and paterae (circular or oval ornament resembling a dish, often decorated with leaves and petals. Commonly seen in a frieze in architecture or on a corner block in furniture), the legs of umbrella shape ending in casters. Circa 1835.

Of demi-lune form having acajou moucheté (plum pudding mahogany) veneers and original hand-beveled marble top; having three central drawers, each one framed with bronze ornament and two functioning side compartments with hinged doors. Circa 1780.

Stamped F. REIZELL twice to top and G. KEMP once to top.

François Reizell was a German ébéniste who established his workshop on the faubourg Saint-Antoine. In 1770 he moved to the rue des Saints-Pères. His principal client was the prince de Condé for whom he supplied pieces at the Palais Bourbon and for the country houses at Chantilly and Villegenis.
