Fine, Northern Italian, Louis XVI period, Secretaire a Abbatant
Recto-linear in form, designs in both marquetry and parquetry, using fruit wood, ebonized wood and walnut veneers, having one long central drawer above the abbatant door which opens to reveal four small interior drawers and a leather writing surface, the lower compartment with two doors, each side adorned with musical trophies.
Certainly inspired by the workshop of Guiseppe Maggiolini.

In solid carved walnut with serpentine front and galbe sides, richly carved with acanthus leaves and and shells, the bottom apron pierced, the whole resting on four cabriole feet, with original gilt bronze pulls.

four cabriole legs, the veneer done in parquetry of Tulipwood, the top inset with gilt-tooled brown leather, the whole adorned with bronze dore mounts. Part re-veneered. Circa 1735.

Pair of exceptional Louis XVI period fauteuils
In solid carved mahogany with giltwood accents, the front aprons inspired by the designs of Georges Jacob, the armrests adorned with mufles de lion (lion masks) in the manner of Jacob Frères (Georges Jacob's sons), and having unusual tapered and sprial-fluted back sabre legs.
Late 18th century.
